OUR STORY
We are Per & Marie.
We met on a surf camp in Bali, 2012.
We live here in Swedish Lapland with our three dogs, Lucy, Rosie & Duke.
our two cats, Allan & Syd,
and our flock of chickens.
In the spring of 2017, we started Lapland Yurts.
The yurts come from the Netherlands and are handmade by a company called
Nooit Meer Haast.
They are of traditional Mongolian design with wood from Holland and wool from dutch sheep.

The Homestead
Our long-term goal is to be more self-sufficient. We are not what you call "off-grid" because we are connected to the power grid. We are not connected to city water or sewer so we use septic systems and outhouses, and we have two wells for our water supply. We like to grow our own food, which is somewhat of a challenge for the latitude that we are on, so we now have a 14 by 3 m. greenhouse. We also have chickens that have a warm stable in the winter months and roam free in the summer.
What a beautiful place and cabin. Marie-José and her spouse were great hosts and gave us the most wonderful and warm welcome when we arrived. We highly recommend this place and we would love to come back one day.

The yurt was a beautiful space to sleep in. The location is stunning and we were treated to an epic sunset and sunrise over the frozen lake. A great experience all around.

The yurt is fantastic! We were there in the winter. On arrival, the yurt was warm and comfortable. The beds are super and there are blankets enough. Next morning it was -32*C, with a clear blue sky and a lot of sun. It was amazing! We hope to come again in the future.
